As a non-profit organisation, DECHEMA brings together scientists, engineers, institutions and companies from a wide range of disciplines. The aim is to use the knowledge and experience of the network to jointly develop new technologies in the fields of chemical engineering and biotechnology and to transfer research results into practice.
Around 60 national symposia and conferences, as well as major international congresses, are organized each year to promote the exchange of information between members. These were organized using an in-house solution, but its functional scope soon reached its limits. DECHEMA then decided in favour of Converia and against a costly in-house development.
Use Converia to make your event a success!
With the Converia modules for participant registration, contribution management and conference planning, several areas of event management are covered without having to rely on several providers. In this context, DECHEMA particularly appreciates the rapid availability and competent support.
People who register for an event can pay by credit card. Converia has developed an interface to the existing payment provider Elavon for this purpose. There is also an automated interface to accounting. Audit-proof invoicing directly from the conference software provides reliable financial data.
A corresponding function has been implemented in Converia to map the reverse charge mechanism. This means that people from abroad can invoice their participation using the reverse charge procedure.
By integrating the corporate design elements into the software interface, DECHEMA is immediately recognisable as the organiser. The individual event websites are also kept in the company's typical colours.
DECHEMA uses internal CRM software to manage its members, which can exchange data with Converia via API. This makes it possible to add people as participants without having to enter their data manually again. A module for exporting booking data to the DATEV ERP system has also been developed.
An interface to the DECHEMA directory service ensures that the internal user accounts can also be used when managing events with Converia, so that no separate Converia accounts are required.
