Does Converia support true double-blind review?
Yes. The review process is conducted online and in multiple stages, using either a blind or double-blind procedure. Reviewers are assigned automatically based on defined criteria or manually, while section chairs manage the evaluation of specific subject areas. You define the assessment criteria yourself – ranging from grading and predefined answers to free-text fields and recommendations for decision-making.
Can authors submit in LaTeX?
Yes. Submissions can be made as plain text, formatted text, MS Word, PDF, LaTeX, or a combination of these. You define hierarchical topic areas, flexible presentation types, and custom mandatory or optional fields for each submission.
How is the program created from the accepted submissions?
Accepted submissions are automatically scheduled into a program and can be adjusted via drag-and-drop. The system prevents scheduling conflicts by ensuring a speaker cannot hold two concurrent sessions, recognizes session roles and rooms, and allows for parallel draft versions of the schedule. Cancelled presentations are removed automatically.
Can we create a printed conference proceedings volume?
Yes. Contributions and program data can be exported to InDesign – print-ready for the conference proceedings and in the order of the program. Additionally, CSV exports are available for further processing.
Can attendees see their own schedule?
Yes. Attendees receive a global conference calendar and a personal conference schedule—complete with abstract downloads, search, filters, and speaker bios. The latest program is also available offline via the conference app.
Is Converia also suitable for smaller scientific conferences?
Converia is designed for content-driven conferences that involve submissions, peer review, and scheduling—regardless of whether you are expecting eighty or two thousand abstracts. If you are planning a networking-only event without a review process, there are more suitable tools available. We will be upfront about that when we speak.
Where is our data hosted and processed?
Our servers are located in Europe, and all processing is GDPR-compliant with data processing agreements in place. Our contracts and data processing terms are specifically tailored for scientific, medical, and public sector clients.
