tw tagungswirtschaft
Informative and inspiring, tw provides reports on current studies, trends, and background information. This mix of topics is complemented by extensive event reviews. The focus is primarily on events that stand out for being particularly innovative or for distinguishing themselves from the crowd with an extraordinary concept. Reading it often gives you the feeling of having been there yourself, which is not least because attendees are always given a voice.
In addition to five regular issues, you can look forward to one special edition per year. Over the last two years, this has been dedicated to the topic of Green Meetings and promises equally exciting insights into the world of event planning.
CIM - Conference & Incentive Management
Published entirely in both German and English, CIM is broad in its scope, both thematically and linguistically.
Five times a year, it provides detailed reports on major events, explores new trends and technologies, and shows which countries and cities are best for hosting meetings.
Reports on how and where to best showcase your own event are, of course, also included. A special feature is the international directory of meeting service providers, which lists various event professionals and agencies and concludes every issue.
Event Partner
Event Partner is characterized by an appealing mix of topics. Six issues a year offer plenty of reading material on every conceivable aspect, ranging from careers in the event industry and safety planning for events to the perfect catering. Every now and then, the magazine looks further afield, allowing readers to learn how event agencies in Spain or Nigeria operate.
Even though more than twenty years have passed since the first issue was published, the editorial team has not lost its knack for the right topics and remains highly knowledgeable. A very reliable partner, indeed.
PMA
Anyone wanting to look at events from a technical perspective will be thrilled by pma. In eight issues per year, the magazine gives a voice to those who usually work behind the scenes and shows what is possible on stage. Elaborate lighting, sound, and projection concepts are clearly explained using practical examples. Furthermore, the presentation of the latest technical highlights provides ideas for your own events.
You should have a bit of prior knowledge in media technology, however; otherwise, the articles, filled with technical jargon, could quickly become confusing.
BlachReport
BlachReport has the highest frequency of issues per year. Every two weeks, it provides news from the field of live communication. According to its own description, the magazine primarily reports on people, brands, and markets. The focus topics in each issue range from organizational aspects, such as events on the high seas, to technical support for events via event management software.
All of this is enriched with interviews in which experts from a wide variety of fields provide insight into their areas of work and always have plenty of exciting things to report.
mep
As a trade magazine for the MICE business, mep is characterized above all by what its name stands for: Marketing Event Praxis (Marketing Event Practice). Every two months, subscribers find the latest reports on conferences, congresses, and meetings in their mailbox. mep is aimed at everyone professionally involved in planning marketing events and trade fairs, providing them with everything happening in the industry in its very extensive news section. However, the magazine also likes to focus more closely on complex topics. For example, mep provides detailed reports on sustainable event management or everything that concerns associations during event planning.
Cities and regions both at home and abroad are also profiled. After reading, it shouldn't be too difficult to put together a supporting program that is truly impressive.
EventEmotion
The largest Swiss trade magazine in the industry may only appear three times a year, but it
has long had readers far beyond the Swiss Confederation. In Austria, Germany, and Liechtenstein, too, people wait three times a year for news from the core sections: MICE Market, Locations, and Business Travel. Each issue covers the individual topics so comprehensively that nothing is left to be desired.
Which apps should be on every conference planner's smartphone, why meetings in the mountains are particularly worthwhile, or whether liability insurance for organizers is sufficient—EventEmotion has the answers ready for you to read.
MICE-tip
Organizing conferences and events—with the help of this Swiss magazine, it should work without a hitch. There are plenty of ideas and tips for planning and executing events, and once you have this Swiss magazine in your hands, you won't want to put it down. While the print edition cannot be subscribed to outside of Switzerland, all non-Swiss readers can still enjoy the interesting articles thanks to the online edition on the MICE-tip website.
Another major topic is the Swiss MICE Awards, which the magazine presents annually and for which readers vote for the best congress centers and conference hotels, among other things.
events
Looking at the exterior, the layout and the original illustration on the otherwise whitespace-dominated cover of events magazine stand out in a pleasant way. But it’s not just the packaging that is refreshing; the content is, too.
According to its own description, event planners will find professional knowledge within its pages. The quarterly magazine does not promise too much. Well-researched practical reports provide tips on how to best refine your own project management. In addition, readers get to know event planners in every issue whose success stories can provide the necessary impetus to put their own plans into action.
