At scientific conferences, a series of presentations on a specific topic is referred to as a session. It often consists of several expert talks or poster presentations. At large conferences, multiple sessions may take place in parallel.

They can span several hours and be interrupted by breaks. These breaks are often used for topic-related discussions as well.
