Custom hosting solution
The RRZK computing center operates Converia on its own servers, maintaining full data control. Key components of the solution:
- LDAP integration: Staff use existing university accounts instead of new login credentials
- SAP ERP integration for resource planning and departmental processes
- Custom corporate design for registration and abstract submission
- Multiple payment methods: bank transfer, credit card, PayPal
Graphical customization of the software
To ensure that events are immediately recognizable as being hosted by the University of Cologne, Converia was adapted to the university's corporate design. The university's signature colors and fonts are therefore reflected in the participant registration and abstract submission processes.
SAP interface for booking data
The university uses the SAP ERP system for resource planning and to manage all processes across its various departments. To allow SAP to utilize booking data from Converia, a module was developed to facilitate easy data export.
Simplified user management
University members use their university accounts to log in to Converia. This is made possible by an LDAP interface that connects existing user accounts to the system. Creating a separate Converia user account is therefore no longer strictly necessary.
